This modern masterpiece is designed by Sandarbh Design Studio, architects in Bangalore, for their clients Rima and Devaiah. This house is unlike others we have seen. The design focuses more on the artistic aspect with antique touches. The vibrant home, which has a rugged Jharokha space for sitting, a living area, tangled floor patterns and a backdrop space at the end of the housing area, creates an inviting atmosphere. Let’s tour this incredible home.
The spacious sitting area has a calm appearance and gives a serene vibe at first glance. The rustic seating arrangement near the beautiful ancient trees gives this a very old world vibe, which we love.
The minimum utilization of space by the artists has resulted in minimal furniture. But the bright shades in the weaving lighten up the room, especially with the wooden windows and the coloured glass panes. The khatla, divaan and the ambience of the overall design are charming.
Old leather has a different feel to it, and this armchair with a footstool, is the perfect example of that. An unusual teal shade complements the otherwise simple décor in this corner.
The kaleidoscopic pattern of floor tiles along with the brass fittings gives the bathroom a sophisticated and rustic aura. The other décor in the room is the cherry on the cake of exemplary décor.
The use of contemporary colours, such as this ochre, is a breath of fresh air. The grey in the entrance looks perfect with the wrought iron gates that lead into the home.
The exotic tile design finish and the old school colour used sets a harmonious example of a well-crafted home. The distinct designs and decor come together to give an exceptional look to the entire home.
The hue of blue is used cleverly with the iron grill m giving the door a certain type of elegance.
A multi-angular passage that is well lit, spacious is kept simple with minimal furniture. Natural filters into the room through the grills and the designer patterns on the windows and doors.
An extension to the housing area in the back leads to an open backyard, with landscaping and colourful tiles.
The royal design leads into the bathroom, which is crafted with just as much care as the rest of the house. The extensive use of wood gives it a stunning look.
The wooden window opens out of the home. The beautiful jharokha pattern used here with ochre and the colourful, artisanal tiles gives it an intricate look that can only be achieved with such rustic materials.
The entrance manages to look like a royal fort gate, with an inner wooden door for entering the home. The combination of wrought iron design and wood gives it unbound by elegance.
Electric fittings add character to the design and make the entire home appear bright and colourful. The old school fittings are unlike anything you will find in a modern home, further adding to the uniqueness of this design. Take another tour for more inspiration – 5 Impressive Bathroom Renovations.
