Relation: The project considers the fact that

the already completely restructured space – even if in an anonymous and irrational way – focussed mainly on the economic matter which means the need to intervene without dismantle what had already been done, while being aware of the fact that the last intervention was inadequate. It is in this contradiction that we have met the client’s viewpoint by operating through a methodology that recalls the  setting up where the container represents a sort of fence in which the insertion of elements that have strong plastic and evocative meanings eliminates any unrealistic constituent ambition of the last intervention and certifies the its only function of physical limit.

Our proposal considers as central elements the redefinition of the relationship between the horizontal surfaces and the use of colour. The low ceiling; the low quality of materials and the disorder related to the search of only technical and structural harmony, are cancelled through hemispheric chandeliers for the dining room and rectangular chandeliers for the ways, that create a sort of lit false-ceiling that articulates the colour alternation of the lamps with that of the walls.

Our work’s target is to create with the customers an usual and preferential relationship with the space as in the past when the usual client chose a table which almost became a part of his home.

Supported by manuals on psychology and symbolism of colours, we identified three colours  that  correspond  with  as  many  social-cultural typologies and we devoted to each of them an atmosphere that can give – in harmony with the other elements of the project -  that familiar sensation our thesis wishes to create.

To sum it up the project , through the partial recovery of the old restaurants’ atmosphere that could be described with the adjectives “simple, healthy and honest”, by overcoming the contradiction restaurant – pizzeria, finds a sort of equilibrium between the nouvelle cuisine’s opulence and the Italian fast food’s anonymity which is the pizzeria.
